Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Softened lines, full expression

What it is

Anti-wrinkle injections use a purified botulinum toxin type A to temporarily relax the specific muscles that fold the skin each time you frown, squint or raise your brows. As those muscles soften, the lines they create smooth out, and the deeper etched lines are given a chance to settle.

Dr Allison treats conservatively and anatomically. The aim is not a blank face — it is a rested one. Dosing is planned around how your muscles actually move, which is why the consultation always begins with watching your expressions rather than reaching for a standard template.

Who it’s for

Anyone bothered by frown lines between the brows, horizontal forehead lines or crow's feet, whether those lines are just appearing or already visible at rest.

It also suits patients wanting a subtle brow lift, a softer jawline, or preventative treatment in their late twenties and thirties, before lines become permanently etched.

The benefits

  • Softens frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet
  • Preserves natural movement and expression
  • Can subtly lift the brow and open the eye area
  • Helps prevent lines from becoming etched over time
  • No downtime — most patients return straight to work
  • Fully reversible: the effect simply wears off

Treatment Areas

Anti-wrinkle injections are planned around the muscles that actually move your face, so the areas treated differ from patient to patient.

  • Forehead
  • Frown lines
  • Crow's feet
  • Bunny lines

Before & after

Forehead, frown lines and crow's feet, photographed in movement — which is where these lines actually show, and the only fair way to judge the result.

Individual results vary. Every photograph is shared with the patient’s written permission.

What to expect

The process

Every appointment follows the same considered sequence, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Dr Allison mid-conversation, hand resting under her chin

    Step 1

    Consultation and facial assessment

We start by talking through what bothers you and what you'd like to keep. Dr Allison assesses your facial anatomy at rest and in movement, checks your medical history, and explains exactly which muscles she plans to treat and why.

  2. Dr Allison pulling on a treatment glove

    Step 2

    Cleanse and mapping

Your skin is cleansed and the injection points are mapped against your own muscle movement. Nothing is templated — the pattern is drawn for your face, and the plan is confirmed with you before anything is injected. Numbing cream can be applied first for extra comfort if you'd like it.

  3. Dr Allison holding a fine-gauge syringe

    Step 3

    Treatment

A series of tiny injections is placed using a very fine needle. Most patients describe it as a brief pinch or a small sting. The whole treatment takes around ten minutes and no anaesthetic is usually needed.

  4. Dr Allison holding up a branded hand mirror

    Step 4

    Aftercare

You'll be asked to stay upright for four hours, avoid rubbing the treated area, and skip heavy exercise, saunas and alcohol for the rest of the day.

  5. Dr Allison smiling to camera

    Step 5

    Two-week review

Results start showing at three to five days, with the full effect at two weeks. The two-week review is when any small adjustment is made — and it doesn't necessarily have to happen in the practice.

Frequently asked questions

The questions patients ask most often about anti-wrinkle injections. If yours isn't here, ask us on WhatsApp — we're happy to answer before you book.

  • A purified, medical-grade botulinum toxin type A, the same class of product used in medicine for decades. Dr Allison will tell you the specific brand she is using and why she has chosen it for your treatment.

  • The product temporarily blocks the signal between the nerve and the muscle in the small, specific areas it is placed. Those muscles relax, stop folding the skin, and the overlying lines soften. Untreated muscles carry on working normally, which is how expression is preserved.

  • Very little. The needle is extremely fine and each injection takes a second or two. Most patients compare it to a quick pinch and no numbing cream is usually required.

  • Not with a conservative, anatomically planned dose. Dr Allison's default is to treat lightly and review at two weeks rather than overtreat on the day — it is far easier to add a little than to wait out a heavy result.

  • The first softening usually appears around day three, and the full result is visible by day fourteen. That is why your review appointment is booked at the two-week mark.

  • Typically three to four months. Duration varies with dose, the area treated, your metabolism and how strong the muscle is. Regular treatment often means the muscle gradually weakens and intervals can lengthen.

  • Treatment is not offered if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis, or have a known allergy to any component of the product. Your full medical history is reviewed at consultation.

  • None in practical terms. You may have small raised bumps at the injection points for about twenty minutes and occasionally a pinpoint bruise. Most patients come in over a lunch break and go straight back to work.
