What it is
PRX is a biorevitalising treatment applied to the surface of the skin and massaged in, rather than injected. It uses a stabilised acid formulation that works in the deeper layers to stimulate collagen while leaving the outer barrier intact.
That combination is the whole point of it. A traditional peel of comparable strength would take the surface off and leave you flaking for days; PRX drives a similar renewal response underneath while you walk out looking like you have simply had a very good facial.
Who it’s for
Anyone who wants firmer, brighter, better-quality skin but cannot take visible downtime — no flaking, no redness to explain, nothing to plan around.
It suits dull or lax skin, uneven texture, enlarged pores and mild scarring, and it works on the neck, décolletage and hands as well as the face.
The benefits
- Firms and brightens without visible peeling
- No downtime — makeup and normal routine the same day
- Stimulates collagen while the skin barrier stays intact
- Improves texture, tone and pore size
- Can be used on the neck, décolletage and hands
- Builds cumulatively over a short course
What to expect
The process
Every appointment follows the same considered sequence, so you always know what is coming next.

Step 1
Consultation and skin assessment
Dr Allison assesses your skin quality, texture and any pigmentation, and confirms PRX is the right choice for what is actually bothering you. Where a different treatment would do more, she will say so.

Step 2
Double cleanse and degrease
The skin is thoroughly double-cleansed and degreased so the solution works evenly across the whole area. Uneven preparation is the most common cause of a patchy result, so this step is never rushed.

Step 3
Application and massage
The solution is applied in layers and massaged into the skin for several minutes. You will feel warmth and some tingling, which settles quickly. The whole appointment takes around forty-five minutes.

Step 4
Neutralise and protect
The solution is neutralised and a hydrating, barrier-supporting cream and high-factor sunscreen applied. There is no flaking to manage — most patients go straight back to their day, makeup included.

Step 5
The course
The recommended plan is five sessions spaced two weeks apart. PRX builds cumulatively, so the difference between one treatment and a completed course is considerable, and your progress is compared against photographs taken at the first visit.

A biorevitalising treatment applied to the skin and massaged in rather than injected. Its stabilised acid formulation stimulates renewal in the deeper layers while leaving the surface of the skin intact.
The formulation reaches the deeper layers of the skin and prompts the fibroblasts there to produce new collagen, which is what firms the skin over the following weeks. Because the outer barrier is left intact, none of that comes with the shedding a conventional peel of similar strength would cause.
It is related, but it behaves differently. A peel removes the outer layers and you flake as they shed. PRX works underneath without taking the surface off, which is why it is often described as a peel without the peeling.
You will feel warmth and a tingling or stinging sensation while it is massaged in, which builds for a few minutes and then settles. Most patients find it very manageable and no numbing is needed.
The recommended plan is five sessions two weeks apart. You will see something after the first, but PRX is cumulative — the meaningful change in firmness and texture comes from completing the course.
Correct. Your skin may look slightly pink and feel tight for a few hours, but there is no visible flaking or shedding. Most patients apply makeup and carry on with their day straight afterwards.
Yes — the neck, décolletage and hands all respond well, and those areas are often the ones giving away skin ageing while the face is well looked after.
Keep the skin well moisturised and wear a high-factor sunscreen daily, which matters more than usual while new collagen is forming. Dr Allison will talk you through home care that supports the course rather than working against it.
