SkinBooster / Microneedling Combo

Hydration and collagen in one appointment

Book a treatment

From R3 35060 min

What it is

This combines two treatments in one appointment. Skin boosters are injectable microdroplets of skin-rejuvenating ingredients — hyaluronic acid, polynucleotides, vitamins — placed just beneath the surface across the whole area, where they hold water and improve the skin's quality from within.

Microneedling is then used to create thousands of microscopic channels that prompt your own collagen and elastin production. Hydration from the boosters and structure from the collagen response work on different problems, which is why they pair well: one improves how the skin behaves, the other improves how it is built.

Who it’s for

Anyone whose skin is both dull or dehydrated and uneven in texture — where hydration alone or collagen stimulation alone would only solve half the problem.

It suits patients with early laxity, crepey texture, enlarged pores or lingering post-acne marks, and anyone who has plateaued on standard microneedling.

The benefits

  • Deep hydration held inside the skin, not sitting on top of it
  • Collagen and elastin built by your own tissue
  • Improves texture, tone and pore size together
  • Visible glow and better light reflection
  • Two treatments in a single 60-minute appointment
  • Safe across all skin tones — no heat, no light

What to expect

The process

Every appointment follows the same considered sequence, so you always know what is coming next.

  1. Dr Allison mid-conversation, hand resting under her chin

    Step 1

    Consultation and suitability

Dr Allison assesses whether your skin needs hydration, collagen stimulation, or both. Where the combination isn't warranted she'll say so and recommend one or the other on its own.

  2. Dr Allison pulling on a treatment glove

    Step 2

    Cleanse and numb

Skin is double-cleansed and topical anaesthetic applied for around thirty minutes. The skin booster is drawn up while the numbing takes effect.

  3. Dr Allison holding a fine-gauge syringe

    Step 3

    Skin booster and microneedling

The skin booster is placed as a series of tiny injections across the treatment area, then the microneedling pass is performed at depths set region by region for your skin.

  4. Dr Allison holding up a branded hand mirror

    Step 4

    Seal and protect

A calming serum and barrier cream are applied. Small raised bumps at the injection points settle within a few hours, and redness eases over the first day.

  5. Dr Allison smiling to camera

    Step 5

    Review and course

Sessions are spaced four to six weeks apart, with three usually enough for general skin quality. Progress is compared against your baseline photographs at each visit.

Frequently asked questions

The questions patients ask most often about the SkinBooster and microneedling combination. If yours isn't here, ask us on WhatsApp — we're happy to answer before you book.

  • A very fine, lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid — sometimes with polynucleotides or vitamins — injected in small amounts across an area to hydrate and improve skin quality. Unlike filler, it adds no volume and changes no contours.

  • The booster is injected into the skin, where hyaluronic acid binds many times its own weight in water. Microneedling then triggers the skin's own repair cascade, which lays down new collagen over the following weeks. Hydration arrives quickly; the structural change builds over a course.

  • No. The needling component is identical and the serum itself is soothing. Many patients say the treatment actually feels more comfortable, because the serum calms the skin as it goes on.

  • For significant scarring, sun damage or reactive skin, generally yes — recovery is shorter and the result tends to arrive sooner and stronger. For mild concerns, standard microneedling may be perfectly sufficient, and Dr Allison will tell you which camp you're in.

  • Brightness and calm appear within days. Collagen-driven change in texture and scarring shows at around three to four weeks per session — typically a little earlier than with microneedling alone.

  • As with standard microneedling, the new collagen is your own and lasts a year or more after a course. Maintenance every six to twelve months keeps the result ahead of ongoing ageing.

  • Most adults with scarring, texture or tone concerns. It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on active skin infection or inflamed acne lesions, or where there is a history of keloid scarring.

  • Usually less than standard microneedling — expect redness for twelve to twenty-four hours rather than a full forty-eight. Sunscreen and gentle products for the following week still apply.
